Backers of Lexington Debate (BOLD) is a parent volunteer organization that supports the debate program at Lexington High School (LHS).  Financial activities of the organization are handled by Backers of Lexington Debate, Inc., a non-profit corporation that is recognized by the IRS as an organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

BOLD’s major activities consist of fundraising to support the debate program, providing support for the two annual debate tournaments hosted at LHS, and providing support as chaperones or judges at tournaments where LHS debaters compete.  The organization’s activities are managed by parent coordinators and are overseen by a Board of Directors consisting of parents, LHS debate alumni, and community members, together with the LHS Debate Director and Social Studies Department Chair.

BOLD holds Board meetings on a quarterly basis, in LHS Room 217.  Meetings are open to all parents of current LHS debaters.  The schedule for 2015-16 is as follows:

September 9, 2015, 7:00 p.m.
December 8, 2015, 7:00 p.m.
March 1, 2016, 7:00 p.m.
June 7, 2016, 7:00 p.m.

The next BOLD board meeting is on: Tuesday December 8th, 7:00 – 9:00pm in Room 217.
